Sorry about the while.
OK, so it's been sort of hitting me lately that all of those things I used to do (making art, composing and playing music) I need to start doing again. Back in the day I used to think of myself as an intensely creative person, and now I pretty much just think of myself as a bus driver. How tragic is that?
Also, I'm very much considering driving to New Mexico next month.

Last night was so great. It may have been a turning point in my life.
A few very good friends helped me realize that what I need to do is to completely forsake my self-hatred once and for all. I think it's the reason that my life has gone nowhere in the past few years, and why I'm losing friends faster than I can make them; these old feelings of loathing that I stubbornly refuse to get rid of. Well, I need to grow up a little bit.
This weekend was ridiculously awesome. We saw the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (Dirty Dirty Dirt Bag as Christer called them) on Saturday night, but what was cooler was that we saw them from the roof of the Atlas grill (we had climbed up there through a ladder leading to a hatch in the upstairs of Pizza on Dubuque), and what was cooler was that we saw them with No Shame celebrity Tabor.
OK, cool, so I'm going to go to Moulton now until tomorrow. Join me in hoping I don't die on the highway.
Two dollars a gallon. I hate gas.

So I tried to put new tires on my bike, and (after a few days of buying the wrong tubes and going to the wrong stores and stuff) today I finally thought I'd done it right, but this afternoon when I decided to go on a ride through Coralville on the way home from work I got a flat front tire. And it was raining. And my attempts to figure out where the leak in the tube was or how I could fix it proved totally unsuccessful, so I had to get on a Coralville bus and go back in town (fortunately in time for my other job). So yeah, another day of crushing failure. I'm worried about myself. I don't think there's anyone else my age who has such bleak self-loathing problems.

What an awesome weekend. On Saturday my dad gave me his old road bike from the 70s, and it's in mint condition (except for the tires); so Jesse and I spent the afternoon fixing it up and riding. It was so fun. And we were going to ride to Hills on Sunday, but larger forces (tornadoes) intervened.
Sunday was great. Some pretty extreme weather was going on. After that, I went with some people to Mike's sister's graduation party. But it was that night that I found out that there are THREE days of school left, not two. It really sucks when you find out that the rest of the school year is 50% longer than you thought it would be.
So yesterday my dad and stepmom took me out to eat at the Olive Garden, and I had a really bad cold, and still do. And then we watched the last episode of MASH on TV.
Yeah, so today is my 21st birthday. But unfortunately I'm suffering from a shitty cold. And I work a lot today (four shifts), and I have to work again at 7 AM tomorrow as per usual. So the only alcoholic beverage I'm going to be drinking tonight is looking like NyQuil.
So bah humbug.
